Obesity is strongly linked with Being overweight/BMI and 2-Diabetes both of these terms are not closely related to each other but when looked in a scope or a lens that is accustomed to seeing and understanding the mechanisms specific as fat mass and blood glucose levels then surely the two are ‘intertwined’. An obese person particularly someone who has more visceral fat which is fat that surrounds the abdominal organs and does not help at all with protective benefits, the body has now developed a resistance towards the action of insulin, which leads to blood glucose levels increasing steadily.
Insulin resistance is experienced when the pancreas generates more insulin and attempts to maintain normal blood glucose levels hence, in order for the results to be achieved, an increase in the amount of fat in the body will have to occur which creates more tissue and causes inflammation. The body now goes into a vicious cycle where insulin’s glucose management is one of the few qualities it possesses but even then that’s not sufficient due to a lack of insulin. Thus when the cycle-frustrating cycle continues uninterrupted not only does the risks associated with type 2- diabetes increase but more so it becomes a reality.
There are other behavioral problems which obesity can reinforce and sadly it is quite alarming such as defective eating habits and lack of physical exercise, and all of these neatly fit into a larger factor of being or this sense of comfortable vicious sharing of the core factors which is associated with being overweight (similar to mass sharing in this case).
Tackling being obese making lifestyle changes and dieting ensures the over usage of type 2 diabetes can be broken along with the improved sensitivity of the body to insulin.
